“My husband and I traveled to Madison for a scenic getaway. As a writer, I needed to unwind and relax to break my writer’s block. Azalea Manor was the perfect place. It was located right on the main strip, so shopping and the river were very convenient. When we arrived, we were given coupons for other businesses, which we used on our second day. The common areas of the bed and breakfast were quiet and relaxing. There is a large covered porch and a sitting area downstairs. The building has been beautifully restored. My creativity came back to me immediately. The food was delicious and the hostess was very accommodating. She went out of her way to help us find things around town. I can tell that she loves the place and is proud of its history. I would definitely come back for another visit. I think this would be a perfect place for a small writers’ retreat. I think that she should host special weekends devoted to the arts. I imagine that artists would find this place great as well.”

“Loved staying here with the family for a mini vacation. Shirley, (the owner) could not be a more helpful and inviting host. She gave us coupons for almost the entirety of the downtown shops! She also helped us with directions around Madison, and made sure we knew about all the amenities she offered during our stay, including the delicious and extravagant breakfasts she made. The Manor itself is a beautiful building, and is kept up very well and has such an awesome historical feel. Very much want to visit again soon, best Bed and Breakfast I’ve been to yet!”

“My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. Lovely room. Shirley was a sweet, thoughtful, super hostess. Tasty breakfasts. Two great porches for relaxing. House has a lot of personality and is full of lovely antiques. It was easy to walk everywhere in town. Highly recommend. We will be back!”

“My husband and I stayed a weekend at the Azalea Manor for my birthday. The location is great - a short walk to the main shopping and restaurants. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast was good - waffles one morning and western omelette the other. It was warm enough in March to enjoy the gorgeous 2nd floor porch. it’s location on the side of the building meant you could watch the main drag without feeling like you were on display. One thing to note is that the innkeeper does not hand out keys. So, your room is not locked when you are out. In addition, the front door is locked around 9:00 PM.”

“We were fortunate enough to spend a long weekend at the Azalea Manor Bed and Breakfast in historic Madison IN. Shirley, the owner, was a delightful hostess, providing us with information on the town and the sites to see and enjoy. The accommodations were stellar. The inn is incredibly clean and extremely charming with antique furnishings and décor. I loved sitting on the big porch in the swings sipping wine from one of the local wineries. We had a lovely stay and would recommend the Azalea Manor for a nice getaway in a truly charming town.”

“This was our first experience with a B&B. It was more than we could have anticipated !! Shirley is a wonderful and gracious host. The house is absolutely beautiful and very clean and welcoming. We stayed in the Victorian room with the claw foot tub and it was delightful and relaxing. The house is right in the downtown however very quiet And super convenient. Shirley is a great cook and has snacks and water and coffee on the premises. Games and magazines and books about the history of the home and Madison were available to look at. She provided lots of ideas and recommendations for new comers and even made a reservation to have a carriage pick us up in front of the house. Which I highly recommend for 35.00. Thank you Shirley for a wonderful weekend!! Love, The McMinns”

“My husband and I stayed here for three nights in June. The house was unbelievably clean and beautifully decorated! Shirley, our hostess, did much of the work herself and is deservedly proud. The breakfasts were huge and delicious. We stayed in the Victorian room and really loved having our private space on the veranda.”

“My wife and I loved this place. There were no other guests and we were truly spoiled. We had a great room, the Victorian Room. That room and the rest of the common area were like an antique store. So much to see, so little time. The porch off our room on the second floor was a wonderful escape from the outside world. You could watch a little slice of the world go by, in secret, from a cozy little love seat. The bed was very comfortable and we spent a lot of time in it. The breakfast was wonderful everyday. It was more than I could eat most days. I loved Madison and the Azalea Manor. I will go back.”

“Beautiful Victorian home with wonderful hospitality from Shirley! Thoughtful amenities”

“My wife and I passed through the picturesque town of Madison last weekend and were able to stay at the Azalea Manor. The house was built in 1833 and has a very nice parlor and dining room, attractive staircase, and about 4 bedrooms. The owner, Shirley, was friendly, knowledgable, and eager to help. She had plenty of brochures and restaurant tips, and gave us good ideas on what would be worth doing in this small rivertown.
Our room was comfortable and the breakfasts were good. My wife especially enjoyed the lounging chair next to the bed, while I grabbed some sun in the upstairs “library” (really just the landing, wide enough for a book case and a couple of comfy chairs). One suggestion I’d make would be to have a pot of decaf brewing (my wife doesn’t do regular coffee).
We’ll recommend the Azalea Manor and can see ourselves going back again.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home even though it rained for the three days that we were visiting Madison. The hard work and attention to detail is evident in every corner of this magnificent manor! The delicious food (more than we could eat), the beautiful decor, the antiques, the gardens, the wonderful porches, the innkeepers (great conversations and hospitality), all were perfect! We are looking forward to a return trip later this year - and hopefully it will not rain, so we can enjoy the upstairs covered porch!”

“I will go back if I return to Madison. Shirley has done a magnificent job putting together the wonderful B&B. The breakfast were marvelous. We had a breakfast casserole , french toast and Belgian waffles. It was a wonderful breakfast presentation. We stayed in the Federal Room which is full of antiques and has it’s own shower. All of her rooms have bathrooms. She has a porch to die for. We spent a lot of time relaxing there. it’s very convenient to the sites of Madison. You need to try this place.”

“My husband and I had a great couple of days in Madison IN, especially our stay at the Azalea Manor Bed and Breakfast. The location is great to see alot of the the town’s historic sites. Many were within walking distance. Shirley was very helpful in providing information on attractions, shops, and places to eat. The breakfast was wonderful each morning and we had to walk a lot to work it off! The house is a beautiful piece of the history in the area and we were glad we stayed at this bed and breakfast for this trip.”

“Enjoyed our stay at Azalea Manor. Beautiful home and gardens..had a relaxing weekend with great friends. Innkeeper ,Shirley makes you feel very welcome with her great information about the area and delicious breakfast. Breakfast presentation was lovely..beautiful china and crystal table settings...a special meal. She makes sure you have everything to make your stay a great one! Our room was very comfortable and loved the porch right outside our room. Great area to have a glass of wine and visit with friends. Madison is quaint and full of lovely historical homes. Many speciality shops on Main Street and had delicious meal at Key West Shrimp House. Enjoyed the carriage ride..interesting and fun! Shirley took care of booking that for us. Hope to return and see some of the things we missed!”

“We just returned from our trip to the Azalea Manor. It was beautiful, clean and the host, Shirley, is fabulous and friendly. You won’t go wrong when you book this home for your stay. Already made reservations for our next trip too! The food is very tasty and more than an ample serving for each. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the upstairs veranda is to die for!

“I stayed at the Azalea Manor for 2 nights last week and loved it. Shirley took excellent care of me and went above and beyond any expectations I had. Great breakfasts and comfy and period decorated rooms. Definitely look them up if you’re headed to Madison!”

“Wasn’t sure about staying in a B & B, but from the moment we walked in Shirley made us feel at home. After showing us our room and the house, we headed to one of the wonderful porches with a glass of wine. Our room was very nice and decorated as you would expect for staying with the period, we loved it. Shirley had so much useful information about the town and where to go and eat. After eating one of her signature breakfast a walk around town was much needed. We spent the whole day shopping and seeing all the history Madison has to offer. I would recommend Azalea Manor to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet stay. Shirley is a wonderful host and we enjoyed her home and gardens. She even sent us home with some cutting from her garden.”

“Although fearful that a glowing review could displace me during my next visit, it would be a huge disservice to my hostess to remain silent. This historical B&B is better than visiting your favorite aunt (but I must be careful not to ruffle familial feathers...) The owner/hostess, Shirley, has magically created the perfect balance between generous, gracious hospitality and respectful consideration and courtesy. The accommodations divine and you’ll greet the day feeling pampered and well-nourished thanks to Shirley’s creative genius in the heart of the home, it’s kitchen. This large, carefully restored home is within walking distance to downtown galleries, the riverfront and local dining, while one can enjoy its genuine privacy and serenity of upon return from nearby attractions. Thumbs up and Thank You, Shirley.”

“Our two night stay at Azalea Manor was absolutely wonderful! The National Historic Register home is beautiful, combining modern amenities with the elegance of the antebellum architecture and amazing antiques. Shirley, the owner, welcomed us into her home with the graciousness of a friend. She offered information and suggestions for restaurants, shopping and sights to see during what was our first visit to Madison. Our room was both beautiful and comfortable, and we had access to snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks at any time. Music, board games, playing cards, books and movies were available in two sitting areas. We also enjoyed relaxing in both of the outdoor verandas. Shirley is an amazing cook -- our breakfasts were personalized to our tastes and were delicious, and different, each morning. Throughout our stay, Shirley achieved the perfect balance between being friendly and attentive to our needs, while giving us plenty of privacy. We are already planning our next visit to Madison, and our next stay at Azalea Manor!”

“After 23 years since our last visit to Madison, my sister and I planned a weekend getaway back to the wonderful town we so enjoyed years before. We chose the Azalea Manor and glad we did. The hostess (Shirley), was not only very gracious and kind..but everything you would want and expect for a B & B experience. I have stayed in several B & B’s over the years and must say, Shirley is definitely cut out for the job. She said it was her dream and it certainly shows. By opening up her home to us, it was not only inviting but very relaxing & beautiful - which made our stay there so much more special.”

“My wife & I went for a long weekend to the Azalea Manor Bed & Breakfast in Madison, Indiana. Madison is an historic small town along the Ohio River. A lovely town, with plenty of shops, and lots of friendly people. Azalea B&B, owned & run by Shirley [Azalea], is a gem of a place, and is an historic building in its own right. Each room has its own dedicated bathroom (no sharing; yay!), and is located within each of the rooms. The home is beautifully and tastefully decorated with antiques, yet is very comfortable and doesn’t feel like a museum. There is a room downstairs, and several rooms upstairs. There is a porch/patio area on the ground floor, and a great veranda upstairs, with plenty of spots to sit, and enjoy the garden area or the hanging plants and the breeze. Shirley is a consummate hostess, and makes some wonderful breakfasts (hot meals, fresh fruit, great dessert breads) for her guests. Coffee, teas, juices are also available; she even keep fresh baked cookies on hand, in case an evening snack is “needed” . The Egg casserole with fresh vegetables, and the French toast are absolutely wonderful, and provide much needed fuel to walk about town and see the sights. And you can easily see the sights, for Azalea Manor is on the main street in town, and just a short distance from her front door. The relaxing, peaceful, and nurturing atmosphere provided a great opportunity to slow down, and truly enjoy what a small town should be. Yay, Madison, and Yay Azalea Manor! Also, Madison is very tourism-oriented, with a variety of festivals & special events thru the year. The end of Sepetmber is the Chautauqua Festival, which is an art festival that is huge, and consists of artists from all over, and maybe some crafts. Shirley is very knowledgeable about this and all the other special happenings in town. There are 2 wineries in town, and one often has live music on the weekends (The Thomas Winery). The overall experience was excellent; Azalea Manor is a lovely place, in a wonderful little town. My wife and I highly recommend this lovely B&B, and would certainly consider going again!”

“Shirley is one of those people who never met a stranger, so not only is she a great hostess, she knows an amazing amount about the places to go and people to see in the lovely historic river town of Madison. More breakfast than we could eat and happily modified for dietary constraints. As a historic property, it is not truly handicapped accessible but does have one room downstairs with only a couple of steps to enter the side entrance from the parking in the back. Due to the abundance of other National Historic Register houses in town that are open to the public, Shirley had too many people just walking in and wandering around, so there is no sign on the building ‘Azalea Manor’ (it’s next door to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ) and while you can open the external arched doors, the inner door has a doorbell to ring. Give Shirley a minute to get downstairs to open the door! Or go down the east side to the porch and in the side door and holler. Bonus is that Crystal & Jules, one of Madison’s best restaurants, is two blocks away!”

“This is a wonderful B&B in Madison, IN. Shirley the owner was outstanding and the Inn is beauthful. Close to everything in Madison and you are in walking distance to great restaurants and the river. I would highly recommend this B&B for a couples weekend leisure trip or for business. We had four couples staying the the porch was a great feature of the B&B. Lots of spaces to utilize.”

“On my first trip to Madison, Indiana, I felt so blessed to be in the Azalea Manor Bed and Breakfast! Shirley is a delightful hostess! Her home is so clean and so tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable with a lovely porch right outside our door. The flower garden lines the whole side of the home, and it was gorgeous and well maintained. Azalea Manor is on Main Street and close to everything, but it was not in a busy area. Shirley gave us great suggestions for places to eat and historic sites that we shouldn’t miss. The staff at the Madison Visitors’ Bureau were very helpful, too! Breakfast was superb, and I appreciated having water, soft drinks, fruit, and snacks available throughout the day. My husband and I are still trying to figure out where Shirley gets all her energy!”

“If you are looking for a quiet weekend away in Southern Indiana, Azalea Manor is a great place to stay. The house offered many places to sit and relax from a spacious and intriguing front living room to a large porch with comfortable chairs and a swing. It is right on the main strip, easy for walking to local shops and dining and is close to the river. The place was clean and the owner was gracious. The owner kept the charm of a historical home intact with her decorations and restorations. I love old houses! I wish that I could have stayed longer. I plan to return in spring with my husband.”

“My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at Azalea this past weekend. I have to admit up front that this was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast and we really had no idea what to expect. It was fantastic. Our hostess, Shirley, made us feel welcome as soon as we knocked on the door. She made sure that we knew of some things to do and places to go since we were planning on walking thru Madison. The atmosphere of the home itself is great and gives off that antebellum vibe. The breakfast provided was outstanding and kept me going until our late lunches. If you are planning on a visit to Madison, I highly recommend staying at Azalea. We will be going back.”

“We booked this beautiful B&B for a Birthday get away. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out being short notice. Shirley and her home were a delight! We loved it and she was very personable. Just a sweet heart. She made fresh cookies everyday and had snacks available for her guest. There were many brochures in the foyer to plan activities! A nice touch if you weren’t prepared for things to do. This home is beautiful. I am so glad she has opened it up to guest to visit. Thank you Shirley, we had a wonderful visit and birthday weekend!”

“This place is so well taken care of not to mention the breakfast in the morning is so much food we couldn’t eat it all. Shirley sure knows how to cook and take care of all of her guests. As well as praying before our meal, which was much appreciated. She was very informative about other places to see while in town. We would stay here again.

“Like a five star hotel, with your own personal concierge. They do a lot of extravagant stuff for breakfast, but I just had the bacon and eggs, which is my favorite. My favorite place is the upstairs back porch, which must have stretched out about 70 feet along side of the house, but in the back looking out over the garden. Peacefull.”

“This B&B is just beautiful! The building itself and the decor! Shirley, the owner, is a gracious hostess and made our stay very comfortable. The food was very good and the location was very convenient to everything. it’s a great place to stay as a couple or as a group. We will stay there again for sure! The two porches are beautiful and comfortable and there were no creepy crawly bugs to worry about. There are mosquitoes at night so take bug spray.”

“Two years ago in the Ball State University Alumni magazine, I read about Azalea Manor. This year at Christmas, my husband and I decided to take a short trip together instead of shopping for gifts, so I pulled out the article and we called for reservations for the weekend after Christmas. We returned from our weekend today and have so many sweet memories - beautiful decorating of the home with attention to details; delicious breakfasts with fresh fruit and orange juice; conversations revealing so much in common with Shirley, our hostess (Innkeeper/owner); her knowledgeable suggestions for sight-seeing and dining, the carriage ride through historic Madison (arranged by Shirley). Our room was clean, decorated with antiques and other interesting wall decor (documents and drawings); the water was hot; the bed was oh so comfortable. We were so relaxed there - felt so welcome - were free to use any part of the house not occupied - we felt at home, and we are planning a return trip in Spring or Summer.”

“We really enjoyed our stay. The home has been well-refurbished and every detail added. The location is perfect along Main Street which boasts oodles of restaurants and shopping. The proprietor is very friendly, very knowledgeable and loves Madison. We enjoyed the meal and the delicious coffee; loved the large patio and location. Very charming. For a B&B, it’s very good! It is a great place for couples, but I agree with another reviewer that the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors very clearly. Would we return? Absolutely.”

“We had a nice, relaxing weekend at Azalea Manor. This is a home that was originally constructed in 1833 which has been refurbished and turned in to 4 rooms for guests. Shirley, the proprietor, is justifiably proud of her place. Just a few tweaks would make this place truly outstanding. First, the positive - the location is just perfect. We were able to walk to restaurants (Crystal & Jules is outstanding!), shops, and the river. We’ve stayed at other B&Bs where we had to drive in to town which detracted from the experience. Not so here. The house and gardens are immaculate and beautiful. Hearty breakfasts featured herbs and tomatoes from her garden. The bed was comfortable and the upstairs porch was inviting. Shirley provided a small assortment of snacks and had plenty of information about the town. We were able to take advantage of a couple of discounts she had worked out with local store owners. Our room, the Federalist, was very quiet and since we were upstairs and in the back of the hosue, we heard no other patrons. Now, for the tweaks: the size of our bedroom and bath was very small - not much can be done about that now, just be aware. We’re accustomed to staying in places with larger rooms to spread out. There is no individual air temperature control. As other reviews have mentioned, Shirley apparently controls the temp for the entire house - both nights our room became stuffy during the night. A larger refrigerator for guests to use would be an improvement, as would access to ice. More movies for guests would also be nice - Shirley offered to let us borrow movies that she had rented which is truly indicative of her hospitality, but a broad assortment would help. Still, we were able to walk to Redbox a few blocks away and rent a couple. All in all, we would recommend the Azalea Manor.”

“We spent Mothers Day weekend at the Manor. The owner/operator, Shirley was a super person and a super hostess. Our room was neat, very clean and cozy. We felt right at home from the start. We both enjoyed rocking or swinging on the second floor veranda in the evenings. If you like old houses, this is one to check out. I loved the many details of the Manor that we generally do not see in our own homes today. The location of the Azalea Manor is very nicely situated for shopping in the various Antique/Flea Market, type shops. Very close to a nice little winery. Miss Shirley made reservations for us for a carrieage ride through Madison which was very informative about the history and architecture of Madison. Our stay here was just so relaxing. We highly recommend staying here.”

“My husband and I just stayed at the Azalea Manor and visited Madison for the first time. We fell in love with both the first hour we were there. Shirley, the owner of Azalea Manor is the sweetest, friendliest, and most accomodating lady you would ever want to meet. The house is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. We stayed in the Federal room. We loved having our own entrance and upstairs covered veranda to sit and enjoy our evenings. Shirley has thought of everything. The breakfasts she serves are delicious and nobody ever leaves hungry. She is living out her dream and is enjoying every bit of it. We will definately be returning to Madison and the Azalea Manor B & B. Leave the light on Shirley, we’ll be back! :)”

“We received a gift certificate to stay at the Azalea Manor. From the moment we walked in Shirley made us feel at home. The property is beautifully maintained inside and out. When you pull in you will immediately see a beautiful garden as you walk across the lower porch area. There is also a porch on the upper level with hanging baskets and lots of seating including a padded swing. it’s so peaceful just sitting on the secluded porch. When we arrived Shirley greeted us, showed us around the property and educated us on places to see including places to eat and shopping. Each room has a private bath. Our room was tastefully decorated and Shirley made sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. For breakfast we were served yogurt with fresh fruit, western omelet with a side order of sausage and toast with juice, coffee and tea. Shirley also had plenty of snacks along with a refrigerator stocked with an assortment of drinks. She provides an assortment of videos and games in the downstairs area available for entertainment. Madison is such a lovely town. My husband and I love to walk. There are plenty of sidewalks along the river and throughout town for a brisk walk or just for leisure. For anyone looking for a beautiful, clean and relaxing B & B be sure to check this one out.”

“Very nice B&B. Clean, quiet, and yummy breakfast. The common area has an area you can make your own coffee and teas. Snacks were available too. The lady of the house made oatmeal cookies for me and the other guest. The smell filled the house. She recommended places to eat, things to see, and offered to set up a horse drawn carriage ride. I passed because I enjoy walking. She also advised a place to get a massage. My room was lovely. A comfy bed. Warm temperature and that claw foot tub was so nice. I enjoyed the chocolates by the bed. Breakfast portions were hearty. She is a great cook. Enjoyed the breakfast conversation with the other guest. Was there just before Christmas and the decorations were a delight.”

“The Azalea Manor is a lovely B&B that I had the privilege to stay at 3days ago. I spent the night as the last activity of a two week vacation. Lots of beautiful decor, furniture, and trimmings to keep your eyes busy fill this delightful home. The beds are comfy, the place is clean and the owner, Shirley, is a kind of and caring person who is very attentive to your needs. The Manor is a stones throw from the river and sits along Main St., which is stuffed full of all kinds of quaint little shops and is great for antiquing. I’m looking forward to returning.”

“Shirley, the owner, was extremely attentive to our needs from the first phone call I made to book the room. She suggested the perfect room for us and offered us several brochures for area attractions. She understood our interests and gave us directions to the places we wanted to visit. The home is ideally located, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, the river, wineries and more. The home is exquisitely decorated in period furniture with high quality accessories throughout. She has snacks, cold soda & water, fresh cookies and coffees & teas available 24/7 for guests. She even let us put our bottle of wine in her refrigerator! The expansive covered porches offer a place to relax and she has them decorated perfectly, with plants, tables & chairs, porch swings, outdoor rugs and reading materials. We stayed in the Classical Antiquity room. It was a nice size, as we never felt crowded. We had a soaking tub and there were several bath salts/soaps to choose from. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Our only note is that this room is in the front of the house right by the road. While most of the town does shut down by 10pm-ish, the traffic can be a little noisy for early to bed-ers. The breakfasts....oh my! I could go on and on. The food was outstanding! We had Belgian waffles the first morning along with fruit and yogurt parfaits and sausage. The second morning’s offerings consisted of fruit, an ooey-gooey warm sticky roll, a flavorful western style egg casserole, sausage, bacon and sliced tomatoes. She is a whiz in the kitchen!!! We had never been to Madison before. In fact, we’d never heard of it. What a shame! It is a charming town on the Ohio River with a rich history. We would recommend the carriage ride (Shirley can set it up for you) which gives you an insiders view on the history of this well preserved river town. We will recommend the town and the Azalea Manor to everyone we know!”

“My Husband and I stayed at this beautiful home for our 1st anniversary. Shirley was so welcoming and made us feel like we were at home! The house is stunning, we could have spent all day admiring the architecture and décor! Shirley was very informative of Madison and gave us lots of suggestions on what to do while we were visiting. Not one of those suggestions lets us down! Oh and the Breakfast was delicious! If you leave the house hungry in the morning, its your own fault! We will definitely be returning!”

“We were looking for a 1 night getaway and most B&B is this area were full. We came across the Azalea Manor and called and were told they did have availability due to a no show and that we could also have a late check out since we would be arriving late Saturday night. As soon as we arrived, Shirley (owner/hostess) greeted us and showed us around the manor. She gave us coupons to local vendors and answered all our questions about the area. Our room had a very comfortable bed, large soaking tub and plenty of room to move around. The manor is beautifully decorated. We were offered snacks and drinks throughout the day and the next day for breakfast we were served yogurt, French toast (that was so delicious) and sausage. Shirley is the best hostess. After breakfast we packed our things and headed out. We will definitely be back. Thank you Shirley for opening up your home and helping us have a wonderful weekend”

“We stayed 3 amazing nights last week. We were treated like old friends who were so welcome in your home. Your breakfasts were like feasts! Not sure which was more relaxing, sitting on the rocker on the second floor balcony or being in the double soaking tub looking at the gorgeous antiques in our room. Thank you so much! Judy and Jim”

“My husband surprised me with a trip to Madison, IN for my birthday. Azalea Manor Bed & Breakfast was the place he chose for us to stay. It is a wonderful B & B. Shirley [Azalea], the innkeeper, is such a joy and so helpful to her guests. Azalea Manor is very beautiful and each room is appointed with pieces appropriate for the time the home was built. We felt right at home and enjoyed the freshly baked cookies and snacks Shirley had for us each day. She helped my husband arrange a carriage ride for us as another surprise for me. She explained everything we needed to know to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfasts were scrumptious, filling and gourmet in nature. Azalea Manor, along with Shirley, are hidden jewels and I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Madison!!”

“We had the pleasure of staying with Shirley at the Azalea Manor. This was our first weekend getaway since becoming parents and boy did we need this. We stayed in the Federalist room and loved it. We enjoyed the River Roots music festival and staying in this room was perfect to sneak back in the house after enjoying our late night music and cocktails. Shirley greeted us every morning with fresh coffee, thoughtful incredible breakfast and light music that played in the distance while enjoying our meal. She was kind and treated us like family. She had wonderful recommendations whether it was a local Antique shop, carriage ride, winery or place for dinner, Shirley was in the know of where to go. We cannot wait to return for another magical weekend getaway with Shirley at the Azalea Manor!”

We are already planning our next visit to Madison, and our next stay at Azalea Manor! ”

“My Husband and I booked the Romantic Getaway for our 3rd anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Shirley was the sweetest lady and most accommodating hostess. She opened her beautiful home to us, and made us feel right at home. As soon as we arrived, Shirley was there to show us around her home and gave us coupons to the local vendors. Our stay is Madison was wonderful. We took the carriage ride, which I would recommended to everyone. Loved our stay here and I am looking forward to staying again. Thanks Shirley for the wonderful time Vickie and Joe”

“We stayed at this bed and breakfast for two nights and it was wonderful. Shirley was an excellent hostess and her home is clean and beautiful. A delicious, homemade breakfast was served each morning and snacks were available throughout the day. Clifty Falls is beautiful and the town of Madison is quaint and full of restaurants and fun shops. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and will definitely be back.”

“My husband and I stayed during the weekend of the soups, stews, and brews festival. We were served an amazing spread of stuffed apple French Toast, ham and fresh fruit the first morning. We were in and out all day, walking to all of the shops and through the festival, stopping to chat with Shirley, the owner, a few times. We got cold and warmed up with some hot tea which we leisurely enjoyed in the beautiful front sitting room. We took a carriage ride around the downtown area, and the carriage picked us up right at the front door! After getting some of the most amazing ice cream a couple block down from the B & B, we hit the sack. The next morning we awoke to the smell of egg casserole, sausage and coffee. Yogurt and fruit were also served. I have to say the egg casserole was delicious filled with veggies and a hint of rosemary. We will definitely be visiting the Azalea Manor again, and recommend it to anyone!”
